Meet the Guides
Joel DeBoer
Greetings and welcome to the Northwoods! My name is Joel DeBoer; I have spent my life fishing the waters of Central and Northern Wisconsin and enjoying the beauty of Wisconsin’s outdoors - I can guarantee you will enjoy them as well. I'll work hard to teach you tips and tricks, keep you on the fish, and show you a good time out on the water!
Through countless days and nights on the water, I have worked hard to uncover local "hotspots" while perfecting the techniques necessary to produce trophy fish from them. I have been a member of Muskies Inc. and Bill’s Musky Club, and am responsible for numerous awards for muskies caught and released by my clients as well as myself.
In addition to guiding, I am a musky tournament fisherman having multiple Top 10 finishes. I am active on the internet - providing articles and fishing reports to over 15 different web sites, in addition to doing web-radio shows. I am a published outdoor author and educator including articles in Musky Hunter, Muskie, and On Wisconsin Outdoors magazines, and my weekly column "The Guides Corner" in the Everest Herald. Please feel free to contact me if I may be of service! I am thankful to the wonderful companies I am privileged to work with promotionally: DeLONG Lures * Dunwright Tackle * Esox Edge * Frabill * Mepps * Minn Kota * Mister Twister Mercury * Mustad Hooks * Normark * Optima Batteries * Power Pro fishing line * Pure Fishing * Solar Bat Sunglasses * St. Croix Rod * Stealth Tackle * Storm Lures * Suffix

Below, you will find information on the other guides that have helped to make Wisconsin Angling Adventures the successful, innovative, top-notch guide service it has become. You can rest assured, a day in the boat with any of our crew is not only an incredible learning experience - but an extremely entertaining one as well!
Meet our other Guides...
Todd Bohm

Todd joins the WAA team as a native of the greater Wausau area, having grown up hunting and fishing the streams, rivers, and lakes of Central and Northern Wisconsin. Todd targets a variety of species with a passion. His willingness to implement new techniques lends to his continued success in the outdoors, be it stream trout fishing, finding walleyes, or targeting big catfish at night.
Bohm is a life long educator with a commitment for working with youth, including his work as a guide for the annual Marathon County Youth/Mentor Turkey Hunt. In addition to being a published outdoor author, his affiliations include the National Wild Turkey Federation and Quality Deer Management Association. A day with Todd in his fully equipped Lund boat has this goal – to have fun, learn new tips, tricks, and techniques about fishing, and to enjoy the beautiful outdoors of Central and Northern Wisconsin.
Joe Szarkowitz
Joe’s enthusiasm and energy have helped catapult him to the many success he has experienced fishing local tournaments, being a consistent Top 10 finisher, as well as guiding. "Sharky" has an uncanny ability to go against the norm and produce in tough situations!
Having spent time working in the fishing department of Gander Mountain and at Yar-Craft boats, Joe has his finger on the pulse of the industry. In 2010, Joe will be maintaining a busy fishing schedule between guiding and his many other fishing related activities. Whether you're looking to learn casting or trolling techniques, Joe will keep you entertained and give you a first-rate education on the water!
Chris Jennings

Chris joined Wisconsin Angling Adventures in 2006 and covers the greater Stevens Point area. He has worked in virtually every facet of the outdoor sports industry for more than a decade. Currently, Chris writes and sell advertising for the largest outdoor publication in the state, Wisconsin Outdoor News.
While he has been guiding since 1996, Chris has focused the past few years on employing a scientific approach to the Central Wisconsin flowages in his back yard. Locally we have access to over 20,000 acres of water and as Chris knows, determining where NOT to fish is a major key to success.
Whether you choose to pursue smallies, largemouth, walleyes, cats, pike, or muskies with Chris, you WILL catch fish! It is more important to him however, that on your next trip out, you are armed with a better ability to eliminate unproductive water. In addition, Chris will help you find the confidence to select the best techniques for the water that remains.
